Gorapada Bera

I am a Research Assistant Professor (Postdoc) at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University under the supervision of Simon Donaldson. I received my PhD degree from the Institut für Mathematik at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin under the supervision of Thomas Walpuski. Before transitioning to HU Berlin alongside my supervisor, I was a graduate student at the Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University

My research interest is in differential geometry, with a specific focus on gauge theory and calibrated geometry in Riemannian manifolds with special holonomy. This area involves combination of ideas and techniques from several major mathematical disciplines: differential topology, geometric analysis, complex/algebraic geometry, symplectic geometry and geometric measure theory
