Gorapada Bera

I am currently a Research Assistant Professor (Postdoc) at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University under the supervision of Simon Donaldson. I received my PhD from the Institut für Mathematik at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin under the supervision of Thomas Walpuski, where my work was supported by the Simons Collaboration on Special Holonomy in Geometry, Analysis, and Physics

My research interests are in differential geometry, with a specific focus on gauge theory and calibrated geometry in Calabi-Yau 3-folds, G2-manifolds and Spin(7)-manifolds. These areas involve combinations of ideas and techniques from several major mathematical disciplines: Riemannian geometry, geometric analysis, differential topology, complex/algebraic geometry, symplectic geometry and geometric measure theory
